Let's talk about some genres of video games that are really good.
Will restart as the Khagan of the Magyar in the Old Gods period in Crusader Kings II and i was curious to see if anyone here played the game too.

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade will always be my favorite PC RTS game. I actually do play a fair amount of these on consoles. OG xbox had a game called Kingdom Under Fire that was kind of neat.

For turn-based, I like Invisible Inc, X-Com Enemy Unknown/Within and Darkest Dungeon.

I love that game. Had a playthrough where I slowly worked my way to become the king of Scotland, only to run into some weird civil wars with my own daughters. Fun times. I think next time I'll start as a viking or something.
And do you have the Sunset Invasion expansion? That one's just weird.

Stellaris by the same developer is also pretty nifty, though I kinda screwed myself by making by canary aliens xenophobic assholes, which didn't turn out to be my preferred playstyle for the game.

For turn-based strategy games, I'm really, really fond of Galactic Civilization 2 and the Age of Wonders series, especially Shadow Magic. Heroes of Might & Magic just never really appealed to me as much.
Also the new X-Com fo course, where my last attempt of a Sentai-theme group ended when XRed got almost nommed one too many times and had his Will drop hard.

EDIT: Oh, Silent Storm is pretty boss, too. Nothing quite like machine-gunning a dude so hard he flies out of the window.

For real-timey tactics, I've got myself Valkyria Chronicles and Freedom Force for the lulz.

The only great Heroes of Might and Magic were 3. Every single sequel managed to disappoint in some way.

I played that one, though I didn't quite found it to be as much of my jam as Age of Wonders. Just a matter of taste I assume.

HoMM 1-3 are all good. There's supposedly still a competitive scene for 3 in Russia with people doing crazy challenge maps.
I've been thinking about playing Blitzkrieg again. Been a very long time.

My favourites are still command and conquer tiberian sun and red alert 2, age of empires 2 and supreme commander.

Tiberian Sun is mad good. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it's still being played. I also wouldn't be surprised that you can't play it online anymore.

I played Tiberium Wars on consoles. I thought it was breddy ok for a console game. It's no Dawn of War.

I really liked the 3rd c&c tiberium, but kanes wrath made it sooooo good. While people (retards) on the forums where fighting about c&c and supreme commander at the time... i was confy playing and loving both.
