Before I watched the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares I knew something was up with everything based on the fact that Gordon would basically lay into everyone over every little thing, and they lay in to him in return, yet, somehow, if he went back to visit there was this... genuine connection he seemed to have with them.
Then I watched the UK version and you realize that Gordon is actually a really cool dude. He doesn't sugarcoat his opinions and just wants people who are into the food business to actually give a damn.
The drama announcer in the burger version is the worst part. I'd love to go into the episodes and edit out the announcer entirely. And the recaps. Recaps are not really needed even with shows that have commercial breaks.
Man, you'd "love" German realityshit. Each episode has like 3-4 separates plots, which rotate every few minute - and there's a recap of the previous events after each rotation in case you've forgotten what happened 5-10 minutes ago.

Exactly like burger reality shit. Where do you think the Germans copied from?

I dunno, the UK or something? If we don't rip off Murrica, we rip off from the old world.
Though I wonder if Murrica also has that thing where the producers become so desparate for views that they switch over to "celebrity" (aka the same washed-up, Z-tier IRL nobodies you already see everywhere on trash TV) version of their formats.

I don't wonder. I know. I don't even have to look it up or something. That's too much like the first thing that would spring to a TV show writing team's minds to not be the case.
