PS3 nerds can bang on about muh jrpgs all they want
Thing is, there is (almost) nothing to bang on about in that regard.
Most of the PS2 franchises where either moved to other consoles (SMT, Dragon Quest and the Okami sequel on the DS), downgraded (White Knight Chronicles compared to Rogue Galaxy) or canceled (Steambot Chronicles).
Nippon Ichi's multiverse of weebshittery, the Atelier games and the Neptunia games survived on the PS3 and are good (it's a maybe with the Neptunia ones), but they are also ultra low-budget and look like PS2 games.
The only high-budget jrpgs on that console are Ni No Kuni and Final Fantasy Let's Forget About That One.
Catherine isn't a jrpg, it's a puzzle game with soap opera cutscenes. And sucks ass.
Then we have 3 Metal Cuck's HIDDEN JEM-tier games: Folklore,Nier, Resonance of Fate.
That is all the PS3 has to offer in terms of jrpgs, and many weren't exclusives either.
Even if we count the Yakuza games as jrpgs, that's pitiful compared to the PS2 library.
EDIT: I also forgot the first Valkyria Chronicles, that one was originally on the PS3 too.
