Even the gayest shit from 20+ years ago is bound to look straight af compared to the queertastic hellscape that is Current Year entertainment.

I'm also beginning to suspect EA never had much faith in Whalefart, no matter what their marketing might say otherwise:

• It's like 10 bucks cheaper than the current standard for AAA slop, no doubt in an effort to boost sales numbers
• The game doesn't have any DRM, which might be another measure to boost sales (there's always a vocal minority getting assblasted about a new game release having DRM), but it's more likely that EA didn't feel like paying Denuvo or someone else
• There's no season pass or DLC roadmap (as has become standard with AAA slop). No doubt EA wants to avoid a Suicide Squad situation where they are contractually obligated to pour more money into a dead game, lest they anger the Ultra Deluxe Collector's Edition buyers

tl;dr: They want to boost sales numbers while spending as little extra on the game as they can get away with.
