Jesus, those sweeps! He's so garbage it's a miracle he got any wins at all. I'm 18 minutes in and I think I've seen him do two 360s or so. He knows that Hugo is a grappler, right?
Yeah, he'll do flying fierce kick into a sweep and get a knockdown, so what does this nigga do? Nothing. He waits for them to get up so he can sweep again.
I'm not even a good Hugo. I can't do shit in 3S. But I know that when you get a knockdown, you immediately dash in and go for a mixup. Hugo has some amazing built-in mixup tools for their wakeup. You can 360 of course, you can 720, you can shootdown backbreaker, you can stand fierce punch, you can clap into a combo etc.
DSP just doesn't know shit about Hugo. He's played him across 2 games and doesn't know anything. He got REALLY lucky with his opponents. When I was on fightcade, a lot of people would just parry whenever I did the same move twice in a row. You can't be predictable in 3S. That forced me to learn new shit like using taunt, meat squasher, ex lariat or shootdown backbreaker to force the opponent out of their groove in neutral.
I saw a funny DSP thing buried in one of his shitty SF streams, so I figured I'd cut out the relevant part and upload it. It might be on Vault Boy already, but I prefer my faggy edits to his faggy edits. DSP had these fights stacked up at the very end of a 2 hour video, so a lot of the youtube viewers probably tapped out before they got to that point.
Should be up once it's done processing. Hopefully the upload doesn't fuck up.
I don't play SF2 as I say here, but there's some basic shit you can pick up just from watching. The sagat players are both capable of playing in close with him and shifting the tempo. They frequently predict the moves DSPig is going to make before he makes them and get pretty crazy good punishes off of shit like blocked supers and jump-ins.
I think it's quite insulting to their skill that he calls them online trihards and implies they have no ability to play. I'm a little curious if these two players are members of the FGC, or if they're just some of those crazy good SF players you find in random matches online. For example, the best Oni player in Ultra SF IV in probably the entire world is a japanese player named Wao who plays primarily at japanese arcades and nowhere else. I'm pretty sure he's good enough for evo/the world stage. He just doesn't go.
On the day before SFV came out I hung around a stream of a little SFIV 8chan tournament. The guy who won it was some ultra sick Feng player. Dude has played zero ranked matches ever. Only player matches and a bit locally.
Buncha classic DSPisms in there. Especially his bitching about people "mashing" moves. So what does he do himself? Maybe he actually doesn't use the inbuilt input buffer. Could explain why the game supposedly doesn't read his inputs and he does everything too late.
For obvious reasons that would never happen. Even if WNF would guarantee him to be there unharmed, he'd not go.
That's the one thing why I respect LTG a whole lot more. Yeah he challenged Viscant to a game that isn't Viscant's game. Yeah he still, very, very fucking much so has the taste of Viscant's dick in his mouth. But he did do alright, it was an entertaining and amazing fight and he fucking went there in the first place with the balls to talk shit, compete, lose and get told to wash the taste of dick out of his mouth.
DSP would do none of that. DSP wouldn't even take a legit online match challenge. Too bitchmade for a deathmatch for sure.
Stay free, Dave!
LTG has always been better than DSP at street fighter games outside of SF2 tbh. I hate LTG for being a fraud who picks high tier characters, but I will admit that Rolento at least is like mid-tier and he's a fun character. At least LTG could kind of hang with other FGC guys in terms of skill. DSP can't come close except with sf2. He's terrible at all other fighting games, pretty much ever.
