I stumbled over this series a few days ago. It's a 20 part series and well worth a watch. He goes through the game and mentions references, developer interviews and all kinds of interesting trivia. Very cool series!
His current project is SF 3rd Strike, which is also shaping up rather well.

Ooh I'm gonna add this to my list. SOTN is one of the games that still sparks that sense of wonder in me.

I also sometimes wonder who designed a boss character like Karasuman, who you can pummel to near death before he even finishes his intro animation.

Yeah, really small channel and the dude does those videos on the side. I've only found it because some anon posted one of the 3rd Strike videos on /v/ in the fitan thread.
