I just got to thinking, how much of the early webpages are still accessible, after finding out that the wonderful
Kill everyone project is dead (lol irony). I fucking loved this flashgame, because
I am a fucking sociopath it was a fun little clicker long before cookie clicker :3
And for such a deep, philosophical project I would've wished that my score of 12.345.678 had been archived

Bit of a Q&A to see everyone's general understanding of the early Internet.
1.)What would you guys consider the golden age of the Internet? (you know before the Orwell-Teir shit in the 2010's)
2.)Where people on the Internet suffering form unwarranted Self- Importance like they fo now? Or where they more chill?
3.) What favorite sites (if any) Did you guys go to pre-Social media era (jewtube, Twatter, etc)

On account of my age and the fact that my dumb poorfag fqamily was late to computers and the internet I missed out on whatever the actual internet golden age was, and then when I actually got online my lack of adventurous spirit and unwilllingness to go out of my comfort zone kept me in a bubble and I think I'm half the shitposter I could have been because of it.

You have no power over us, filthy Guest. Though I might consider humoring you just this once.
>wondering if internet people of the past were less autistic
Of course. The internet was newer, clunkier and less cool. Only nerds used it.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

I remember having around IRC channels on various servers and topics, and also on forums, shitposting to my heart's content, never tying anything to my offline identity. That's why I never got the appeal of social media; imagine putting my face behind the kind of nonsense I was (and still am) posting!
Fun (but appalling) fact: IRC allows for P2P file transfer, which of course was used to carelessly share porn. It was somewhat common to find people sharing CP stuff disguised within a somewhat normal file list. Terrible stuff and completely insecure.
That kind of file transfer was also the best way to get subbed weebshit before the advent of torrenting. I filled many DVDs with absolutely trash anime that I still haven't finished watching to this day thanks to IRC file sharing.

One of the earliest websites I remember seeing was rotten.com, which I think is now gone. I'll never forget the first time I saw the series of photos of some dude who cracked his head open in a motorcycle crash. It looked like a batch of Ramen noodles on the pavement.
Also, it is a fallacy to think that Web 1.0 was less autistic than current year. After all, Maddox the cuck and the dipshit who runs 10bux came from 1.0

Hey, I think I know the picture you're talking about. Good times.

Golden age of internet was early-mid 2000s, we had webstores and torrenting, which made getting stuff easier, forums etc but no social media. Normies hadn't ruined internet yet either.

I'd also say around mid 2000s was the golden age. Although, it didn't immediately go to shit. It was a steady, gradual decline.
