That is specifically because you can neither brew a proper beer, nor transport one into tropical climate without modern refrigeration.

The abject garbage that simply isn't even beer we call IPA is literally the best they could do.
I guess if you were a British soldier you'd rather drink that than whatever the dirty-handed streetshitters could conjure up in terms of alcohol but there's a very good reason why it's never gotten into the mainstream after it's invention.

I went to a local grocery store today, speaking of IPAs. To use the Ethiopian restaurant example, nearly the entire beer section was comprised of rice, beans and MREs. Shitty IPAs everywhere. They had macro-adjunct pissbiers and IPAs. Those two. That's what you got.

I don't know why, but the beerfags in my city have such awful taste that they drink IPAs to the exclusion of all else. I couldn't even find a Blue Moon on the shelves.
