The only time I ever saw a NES as a kid was during a visit of distant relatives. The only game I remember running was Nintendo World Cup, which was my first and very short exposure to the world of Kunio-kun.

Was it the version that came with Super Spike V'Ball? That one is almost as dirt common as Super Mario/Duck Hunt since it was a console bundle that had the 4-player adapter.

Could be. Now that you mention it, there might've been some 4-player adapter action, though the memory's a bit too fuzzy to be sure.

River City Ransom is the one that has all the cult following. That and Downtown Special (the Kunio Samurai game) are my favorites.
