Russians are a thing on their own. Don't make the mistake of thinking that other european nations want to have anything to do with them. As for Eastern Europeans, they are considered the equivalent of slavic gipsies. My country is middle european, if anything, we are certainly closer to Germany than to Ukraine (I'm not talking about distance, but about the economy) - people from east come to work in my country, mostly doing the lowest things like digging holes and working on roads etc.
