The main difference is that you get to carry around a bunch of pennies that are a total bitch to actually use.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 4:03 amThey think it's more believable. It's like how every store charges $59.99 for something instead of $60.00 because it sounds cheaper even though it's almost no difference.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

It's to make you want to go cashless so the soy fascists in big tech can really fuck you over by instantly freezing all your assets the moment you step out of line when they finally achieve complete political dominance like they're very obviously working towards.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:18 pmThe main difference is that you get to carry around a bunch of pennies that are a total bitch to actually use.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 4:03 amThey think it's more believable. Sad part? Read the JC Penny fiasco where the guy in charge decided to, pretty much word for word, treat people like people. No more 9.99, it was now just 10$; no more permanent sales, etc. Failed miserably and cost the company a boatload of millions.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:52 pmIt's to make you want to go cashless so the soy fascists in big tech can really fuck you over by instantly freezing all your assets the moment you step out of line when they finally achieve complete political dominance like they're very obviously working towards.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:18 pmThe main difference is that you get to carry around a bunch of pennies that are a total bitch to actually use.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 4:03 amThey think it's more believable. There's no conspiracy. It's just human nature to want that feeling that you're getting an edge on something, and there's a lot of very rich people quite happy to let them keep on thinking that way.

So 5'11 it is. Glad to have that settled, finally. Never found some proper converter for that because of that fucked dozenal system.
Yup, was tried here in the 90s by multiple chains as well. People don't accept it at all. They want to be bullshitted. Fuckers were really angry about those few cents they were supposedly swindled out of. Only place that works is islands because you seriously can't be arsed to ship tons of pennies over there.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 7:03 pmSad part? That 99c bullshit is the last thing the state wants. They'd be all too happy to stop having to make 1 and 2c coins because that shit costs millions in fabrication and especially transport. Especially 2c is just about the most needed coin and you'd cut gasoline transportation cost drastically if people weren't so anal about their few fucking cents in the store they wouldn't bother getting from under the couch at home.

We have the 99 cent thing to in Australia, but they stopped printing one and two cent coins a while back, though we still have five cent pieces. So the rule is, you only get the exact cent price if you pay credit, otherwise it's rounded up or down to the closest number.

That's kind how it is on the islands. They just don't even bother putting 99 shit up anymore. 5 cents is the smallest piece so all prices end in 0 or 5, except for gas stations, who'll just round up because those fuckers use that whole .009 scam shit on the main land anyway.drisko wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 5:30 amWe have the 99 cent thing to in Australia, but they stopped printing one and two cent coins a while back, though we still have five cent pieces. Then you've got nations where they don't even use the smaller value of their currency anymore. Many nordic nations don't bother with any of that shit at all and just ignore it entirely, rounding down on every transaction.
