Even if she doesn't get sued herself, Beard has named her in the complaint so she will most likely be deposed and compelled to testify. She's in for a very shitty time

Granny is showing moral support to Trucker lady again. (It doesn't show the retweet here.)

Thank God. She's getting some actual legal blow back however small. Please let this ruin her.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 6:17 pmEven if she doesn't get sued herself, Beard has named her in the complaint so she will most likely be deposed and compelled to testify. If she has any firsthand knowledge of anything or was a witness to anything, then yeah, she will most likely be served and required to testify. I assume they're not naming her in the suit as a defendant because they want to go after the targets with the most money and strongest case against them.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 6:17 pmEven if she doesn't get sued herself, Beard has named her in the complaint so she will most likely be deposed and compelled to testify. On the other hand, if marzgunt convinces the judge she has no firsthand knowledge of anything, then she admits to all of us that all she ever knew about Vic was based on hearsay evidence.
So she can either say she knows Vic is bad and go to court as a witness, or say she doesn't know nuffin and admit she was full of shit the entire time she organized a campaign against him.

But those decades did happen. Years and years of hugs and saying cringy lines for the fans. Dis-gus-ting.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 6:13 pmBecause the last 3 months and couple of decades of stuff probably didn't actually happen? You and your buddies certainly haven't provided any proof that it has, despite Petty Ugly Bitches saying your voice acting accomplices totally have it.

I find myself beginning to wish that Phoenix Wright never happened. PULL et al. seem to more or less expect some dramatic anime cutscene where someone kicks open the courtroom doors with a "HOLD IT!" right before the gavel hits, then they bring in all of Vic's super-legit victims holding their tweets in front of them as totally-admissible-and-real evidence, then Vic does one of those on-the-stand breakdown animations where his eyes go blank and his colors invert or whatever. That's hyperbole, obviously, but they've made it quite clear that they actually think the whole "plaintiff is revealed as the perpetrator" trope is going to play out in real life. Fucking hell.

Which is going to fuck her if she actually does get sued herself.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 6:51 pmOn the other hand, if marzgunt convinces the judge she has no firsthand knowledge of anything, then she admits to all of us that all she ever knew about Vic was based on hearsay evidence.

If that's actually where they're getting their ideas about the legal system from it's pretty ironic, considering the entire premise of those games is people being falsely accused of crimes they didn't commit.Dingus Bajingus wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 7:13 pmI find myself beginning to wish that Phoenix Wright never happened. Any adult who thinks Phoenix Wright games reflect how real life court systems work is an extremely exceptional individual anyway. The very first game makes it clear they happen in an alternate history where the court systems were completely changed to fuck over the defendant, but even the Phoenix Wright court system is more fair and impartial than the twitter court of public opinion.

Why couldn't they base their legal knowledge on The Practice or LA Law or even fucking Perry Mason? You know, stuff that was actually written by lawyers.
Not to mention that they're based on the Japanese legal system, which really is 'Guilty until proven innocent'Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 8:01 pmThe very first game makes it clear they happen in an alternate history where the court systems were completely changed to fuck over the defendant
