Yeah. That was forever ago. He hyped the shit out of it too, just to make a ridiculously long video whining about how he can't review it because it triggers him too much and the more graphic footage would get his video taken down anyway. Maybe you should have thought of that before you hyped the review in previous videos you absolute fucking moron.

I went back and rewatched the Board James mythology episode and ho-lee shit, I have to give James massive credit for creativity. Even if the episodes don't really add up, you can tell he was very invested in this series and it goes above and beyond anything he ever did as AVGN.
As for why people still watch AVGN, then yes, it's because he's been around for so long, same with the Simpsons and Supernatural. It's become a part of people's lives now and many of the fans will probably watch him for decades to come if he continues.

But it didn't make sense until you watched the behind-the-scenes explanation of what the fuck was going on (beyond it all being a fantasy as the guy died).
So it's not really a success in and of itself.
