A few years back he sent an email to someone in the video game industry(almost certain it was Sega) asking for some sort of freebie because he was angry joe. The beginning of the email said something like this email was coming from his space station or space ship in asynchronous orbit with a full wing of space capable f-16 fighters

When was this? For a good couple years there, the insular hugbox nature of the whole TGWTG sphere probably made it absurdly easy for them to grossly overestimate how big a deal they all were. See also Joe falling flat on his face in front of the Dorito Pope, Spoony going at Spike TV with how much "people listen" to him, and of course, Spoony thinking he could just pal up to the MST3K crew on Twitter before getting his ego roflstomped on. Joe probably genuinely thought Sega (or whoever) would play along.
