My parents weren't going to bankroll my life, there was no trust fund for me, they didn't have the money to pay for my college education, I either succeeded in life or I didn't. So I forced myself to find what I wanted to do with my life and focused on achieving that.

Literally the only improvement in casting over previous versions is Rebecca Ferguson as the mother. They went from 'actresses who look like somebody's mum' to 'hot MILF'. It's a shame it's wasted

I must say, I was legitimately surprised that they didn't bring back Kyle MacLachlan. He's matured into a really good actor, and has the authority to pull off Duke Leto.

Also, whilst Skarsgard is a fine actor, I don't see anyone ever topping Ian McNeice as the Baron.

Yeah, they were never going to do that. Firstly, a casting choice like that would imply reverence for the prior version rather than the contempt they actually feel because it's not woke enough. Secondly, they're not going to get back Kyle, who is very proud of his collaborations with that racist white Trump supporter David Lynch, who had the nerve to make his Twin Peaks reboot with a largely white cast
