People like doing it this way as a sort of trend indicator.

Yeah... and the Oh-12 has been a bright red Republican held district since 1983. It's one of the brightest red districts in the state and has been for 35 years.
Yesterday's elections were in 1. Ohio, 2. Kansas, 3.Missouri, 4. Washington, 5. Michigan.
All 5 of the candidates trump announced his support for won! 5 for 5!
Yuge victory for Trump and the GOP!
Your arguments are amusingly third grade playground. I approve.
Not if you consider the hype of the so-called "Blue Wave" then it's not childish at all. Trump held it off because they didn't anticipate the Big Damn Red Wall!

There was no #BlueWave. This wasn't Presidential turnout, only something like 45% of reps turned out for this meme primary and the dems STILL lost.

Yeah, someone on another forum suggested that the 12th District race was so due more to Republican overconfidence leading to poor voter turnout on their side than anything else. We'll see, but if this five for five is any indication, the "blue wave" ain't gonna be a thing. If anything it may be a wake up call to Republicans in other parts of the country to get out and vote. The Democrats' two year long tantrum throwing has energized their base, but appealed to absolutely no one else.

I want to believe that even the dems can finally see that they cannot control these extremists. Much like the GOP can't control the DEM organization known as the Klan.

The Democrats have lost the independent vote. Those people aren't voting for socialism, abolishment of ICE, and open borders. The Dems have fucked themselves. "Trump Bad" is not a platform.

If the Dems do take back Congress, don't let the media gaslight you with "ZOMG, the people reject Drumpf! Blue wave! Open the borders now!"
Historically, the party holding the presidency will lose congressional seats during the midterms (sometimes a lot) and it isn't a good indicator of a president's re-election chances.

Obama's numbers aren't on that chart, but despite being the definitely greatest president since WW2 he lost 91 seats over his two midterms with 69 of those losses in his first 2010 midterm. Then he still beat Romney in 2012 by 5 million votes and over 100 electors. Even Teddy Roosevelt, who is on fucking Mount Rushmore, lost some House seats in his second midterm.

Losing the House is annoying, but strategically it isn't a major deal. Congress is a bunch of eunuchs and presidential power has exploded over the past 20 years. Keeping the Senate would be very good because that is how federal judges get confirmed and the judicial branch is very important.

ok but if republicans can hold the house and appoint someone like jim jordan as speaker, the things trump accomplished in his first two years will look like small potatoes compared to the next two, imo. jim jordan is the kind of guy who would actually just bring a bill up to vote on that simply says 'funding for the wall' and doesn't have any bullshit attached to it like 'also make millions of illegals into citizens'. also a bill that just repeals obamacare instead of combining it with the replacement. those should be two separate things. the rinos combine this shit because they didn't want any of it to actually happen so they tanked the chances by weighing it down with bullshit.

losing the house will also result in probably impeachment and tons of subpoena's and democrat ran investigations, as if meuller isn't bad enough. trump will be cut off at the knees. well, i'd say he already is, even considering what he's done. he'll be cut off at the waist. dems taking house should be considered a nightmare scenario. not only that but it gives them two years to smear trump and with as retarded a population of voters as we have here in the US, who knows, they could actually accuse him of something that costs him re-election. not that it'd matter if he can't get any of his policies through a democrat congress.

Representatives can only recommend impeachment to the Senate, who then hold the trials and vote to oust. If the Democrats don't take the whole thing they're not getting rid of Trump.
