Mind you, if Spoony is saying that he's justified in being who he is because of the way he's been molded by life, then he is also admitting that he's been molded with a poor sense of personal morality and responsibility, which should automatically make him permanently untrustworthy until life molds him the right way again. Two can play at that game.

Electrical and Computer Engineer here. I don't know about Noah's uni, but where I graduated from (which btw, counts as a master degree) when you graduate you know a lot of theoretical stuff, and you can potentially fit into many job requirements, however nobody is going to take you as anything else other than a junior, when you enter the job market. However, even with 2 years of work experience under your belt, you can expect to get better positions and better salaries.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 9:20 pmSo what does a bachelor degree in computer science translate to in practical terms?
I know nothing of that stuff but I'm assuming that a 15 year old bachelor degree with no work experience is about as valuable as having been a barista at a Starbucks for a week.
In short: You get much theoretical knowledge (which of course you are going to forget, like anything else if you do not practice what you learnt) and you can expect to get good salaries at around 2 years.
I suppose it's somewhat similar with Noah's uni. He is a literal idiot for not getting a job in his field when he still had a solid brain. Nobody is going to hire him at his current state, with this bio.

Rachel is closer to working in her chosen field than Noah is at this point

it's funny seeing the Nostalgia Critic Alone in the Dark review and knowing that Noah, Doge and Lewis will most likely never meet again

I figured as much.
Even if the apprenticeship to became a salesman was a joke, you could instantly tell which teacher never actually worked the job.
Every time Spoon tried to show his expertise he got dunked on like Film Robert talking about guns.
Rushy, my point was more that I can also make a choice that goes contrary to my previous experiences. I can hate taking a walk, hate trying new things and still decide to take one.
So no matter what my experiences are, I always have the option and could reasonably make that choice. I shouldn't have that choice if free will wasn't a thing.
Or to close that topic, as I initially said, it's a weird concept in the first place. It's almost impossible to even define what free will is and it doesn't matter. This way or another, you'd find it inexcusable if I took a shit in your kitchen sink.

This wouldn't even be a useful resumé for video editing which is ostensibly the only "skill" he's ever used to make a living. He says he's a specialist in Adobe After Effects v. CS6. But the current version is 17.5. You might as well tell an employer that you're fluent in all applications for Windows 95.

Depends on a field really. If you want to be a programmer for example your degree means jack shit, most respectable employers will not care about your degree - your portfolio, experience and proficiency in various programming languages and fields with the willingness and ability to adapt and work with others is what matters the most.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 9:20 pmSo what does a bachelor degree in computer science translate to in practical terms?

I suppose the only thing he can credibly get with his ten year old bach degree is something revolving around video editing, but even then, what would he be able to show his prospective employers? His reviews are super old and blurry at this point, he’d have to actually edit something new together, which I doubt he would do.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:40 amThis wouldn't even be a useful resumé for video editing which is ostensibly the only "skill" he's ever used to make a living. At this point his degree is for “bragging” only, it’s useless and only serves to boost his frail ego. He’d be better off going back to school and getting an entirely different degree. I get that he’s 40 at this point but it’s not like he has kids, a job, a girlfriend, or any actual responsibilities.

He could learn how to tie a noose.
That would be dishonest on his part. He was so baffled about the concept of 7zip that it makes me believe he hasn't encountered WinZip or WinRar either.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:40 amYou might as well tell an employer that you're fluent in all applications for Windows 95.
