Even though it seems like a minor thing not worth the effort, there is always that chance that Spoony may sperg out in court.

I don't know if it's legal to record in court. It may not be. I've seen sovshits get tased for trying to record in court. But if the court proceedings are public, which they of course would be, the records and any court recordings would be made available for a fee after his court appearance.
