Encyclopedia Dramatica? I assume that's just a handful of idiots, those guys are fucked if a wealthy motherfucker wants to get into a legal scuffle with them, if only because he can outspend them into oblivion.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 5:03 amDoesn't ED have some sort of organization behind it? The whole site was nuked around 7 or 8 years ago and what you see is the remains of what people managed to restore and scrape by. Some leet haxxxor from the British Isles that flooded the thing with actual cp and the owner had to pull the plug.Vaporwear wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 7:14 amEncyclopedia Dramatica? That's why the slogan is "....and nothing of value was lost"

Exactly, in which, let's hope we don't get sued, cause the owner would be so fucked. Some Sick Fuck wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 10:38 amSo just like us? Except only one idiot really owns the place.

Don't see how. As people have pointed out, you can't really sue ED. If it gets taken down, someone else will either create a fork or create a mirror and it'll be back up the next day. It's like whenever copyright holders try to take down torrent sites, usually somebody's created a mirror within the week.

the lindsey one could be real interesting if he can find proof or testimonies saying the abortion was indeed a sacrifice to satan.

They'd have to sue every user individually. A lot of us are from different countries.Vaporwear wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 10:48 amExactly, in which, let's hope we don't get sued, cause the owner would be so fucked. Some Sick Fuck wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 10:38 amSo just like us? The reason I say they'd need to sue every user is because Poonoo could just take down the website and I could go make a new one. All this place is, is a blank slate for sperge. We just talk here. We're not putting up articles claiming to have authoritative information which could be construed as libel. It's just free speech.
If someone doesn't like our speech or gets triggered by our speech, maybe they should close their computer and walk away. Nobody is forced to read DHI. That's like eavesdropping on a conversation between a bunch of drunk friends/enemies/shittalkers and getting offended at an off-color remark.

He might have learned a bit too much from researching Spoony.

Things like Slander and Libel are dependent upon where the "speech" takes place. Things like forums and discussion threads are considered casual conversation, rather than published material. There was actually a Supreme Court decision in this matter several years ago, can't remember the name, but it was from the '90s. Someone attempted to sue Compuserv because they didn't like how people in their forum were discussing them, and the court ruled that you can't sue people for simply having a conversation.
