Something I learned from the manosphere is that men have a primal instinct to protect women. It is also a common theme in our mythology, literature, and media we consume.

It's an instinct I have and probably most of you have too. But in recent years I've been trying to repress it like you suggest. I think I may have already posted this story, but about a year or so ago I was waiting for a bus at night and saw this lone chick completely faceplant on the pavement. Probably drunk or high. She was actually KOed for several seconds and then started groaning and gradually tying to get up. The instinct was to help, but I didn't. I didn't want to get falsely accused of something, so I stayed the fuck out of it.
