I see, so even though it's a silly thing that has been dictated to them a long time ago, nobody cares enough to change it?
No politician wants to be the pro-porn guy. If the jailing of Rokudenashiko didn't motivate Japan to change its laws, I don't know what will.

From what I understand, it's been a series of different censorship laws starting from the Meiji era onward. Japan used to be very open about nudity and sexuality and Western visitors were horrified. That's how the first laws happened.

Laws designed to keep whitey from spazzing out are still happening.

I never understood the ridiculous censorship of their porn, especially since they're into all sorts of kink, but I've gathered that if they wanted to change the laws, they would've by now. Could it be that japanese just like to pretend that they're oficially above all that dirty stuff?
They have censorship like mosaic censoring of genitalia because of ridiculous censorship laws. Nobody likes them. Nobody wants to change them, though, because they'd risk being publicly accused of degeneracy
Exactly. Once a law is in place and firmly established, it tends to stay that way, especially if there's no pressure to change it. What kind of politician would revoke a law when doing so would actively damage his reputation and paint him as a degenerate? I don't think the Hentai industry offers high enough bribes for that.

(I'm just hoping the Nihon Olympics will feature Hatsune Miku in the opening ceremony.)

Its a huge expense and burden for the host. The economic boost doesn't come close to justifying it. It's why decent, first world countries are starting to withdraw consideration entirely, leaving only shitholes ruled by despots to stay in the running. They can host the Olympics as a vanity project without any concern for what it does to the nation.

Which the Olympic committee will handwave by going "Muh international attention will surely force these countries to uphold human rights and democracy more!", when in reality that shit tends to become worse as the regime in question does anything in their power to shut up any form of opposition and deport poor people to some place far away from any journalists.

Nipponese censorship laws serve one purpose: to make guys like Jim Watkins rich (since he provided uncensored porn for the japs due to being based in Pinoy land) so they cand spend it all on Turgikistani floral wallpaper discussion webzones to preserve shitposting on the internet during these dark times.

Well, you get enough politicians now backing up the faggots and transvestites, so there are some degeneracies that just have the right amout of pressure behind them to get politicians on board. But that's because it's new, hip and cool to be queer, along with a handful of mental illnesses and ideally being unemployed, because of the evil capitalist society we live in.

Something as healthy to society as porn industry couldn't possibly get any backing from activists, they mostly aim to be outraged against something that doesn't harm anyone. Still, it sure comes off as ironic as hell, Japan, the cradle of fetishes is the country that actively censors porn.

A lot of politics are driven by women and their feewings. Generally speaking, women hate porn. Not all of them, but most. The religious conservative ones and the feminist liberal ones both agree on this.
No female politician would propose such a thing, and all the male ones are too gutless.
