I also love how they removed the fog, which not only killed the mood but also unveiled the games' terrible drawing distance that made the - for their time - fancy graphics possible.

(Maybe they've put the fog back in with a patch, but I can't be arsed too google dat shit.)
The fog fucking up was related to the very specific ps2 architecture, which the incompetent fucks at Konami couldn't emulate properly. So it probably was never fixed.

Yes, in SH2 you have the option to pick but not in SH3.
That option only exists because the Silent Hill 2 voice cast agreed, for the good of the GAME, to allow their lines to be in the game FOR FREE.

The only reason the original VAs are available in SH2 is, again, because every voice actor involved agreed not to be paid. Otherwise Konami was going to remove their work from Silent Hill 2. All because they didn't want to pay.

That's a level of shittiness that stands out even in the games industry. Konami wanted to release a game again, get paid again for it but not pay the original VAs who made the game so good.

I never knew this. Wew laddie. Glad to see Konami being cunts isn't a recent development.

I don't even know how fucking incompetent you have to be to lose the finished build of a game, leaving the remaster team with an unfinished fucked-up build to work on. No wonder it turned out like trash. That was the main reason I never bothered with it anyway. Even the PC version was pretty gimped because of this IIRC, not that I played that either.
I've heard that it used to be common for Japanese companies to delete the source code for a game after it was completed out of fear of someone stealing it.

He's not even playing it on hard hard, he's playing on hard combat, normal puzzles. And openly reading a walkthrough on camera. I'll give him credit, at least he isn't blatantly reading a walkthrough then pretending he's figured it out for himself this time.

I guess going "OMG a secret passage?! WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" was too exhausting for him. Sooner or later, he'll just have a laptop either sitting on his lap, or next to him.
