I disagree. Unless you're law enforcement who needs bait for the hook, the only reason you'd possess child porn is because you're a sick fuck. In the article I linked, the guy tried to slide in that "watching child porn" (real child porn) didn't count as having done anything.

Looking at the letter he wrote, what he did sounds reasonable. It wasn't that he found out about a sex offender existing and immediately killed the guy. He examined the situation and realized the pedo was not reformed at all, was planning more rapes at that very moment and had new victims in mind. He took proactive action knowing people wouldn't understand and he even went the extra step of turning himself in knowing he'd face a harsher sentence than the man he killed, and it would be all the harsher because he had no lawyer cutting him a deal in exchange for the confession and plea (lawyers will tell you even if you are guilty and want to confess, that you should not say anything and try to arrange a deal first.) There were multiple times during this process that he could have waited for a situation more favorable to himself before doing the right thing, but he chose to do the right thing as soon as possible.

In short, he seems like a man of incredible personal moral fiber. Some may not agree with his actions, but I agree 100% with his motives for doing them and how he comported himself overall.
