Re: Movieblob
It's to feed his ego. Didn't Brick-by-Brick had these moments where he'd do imaginary discussions, with him giving smug responses to what he thought his "audience" would react like?
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Debates with imaginary readers are the only debates he can win. Real people just get baffled or frustrated by him weakly retorting then acting like he won. Remember when people made fun of him for living in his parent's basement and totally shut them down with "well achully it's a downstairs apartment/productions studio "?
Re: Movieblob
He's recently formed the foolproof technique of using that Braveheart quote "and if he were here he'd consume the English with fire from his mouth and bolts of lightning from his ass!" whenever people bring up how he wants to gas the blue collar working class whites for their genetic inferiority. That way he can be sarcastic and act like it's ridiculous without ever actually denying it, which totally fools everyone!Oengae wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 8:02 pmDebates with imaginary readers are the only debates he can win. But Bob, Mel "Kike Krusher" Gibson is a notorious anti-semite, so if you quote him that makes you one too! Sorry sweaty, I don't make the rules!

Bob recently tweeted that people who hated TLJ had never heard the phrase "subverting expectations" before the movie came out.
Re: Movieblob
Okay, so subverted expectations. Bravo Rian Johnson, you browsed TVTropes before chugging a gallon of soylent and squat shitting TLJ. Expectations subverted. so what?
What groundbreaking plot changes come from Rey not being a Skywalker, Luke not fighting Kylo for real, Snoke just being a nobody Sith lord, or any of the subversions he threw in? Absolutely nothing. They're the narrative equivalent of giving someone a wrapped empty iPhone box for Christmas and acting like you're a genius for delivering fucking nothing

Your expectations were unrealistic to begin with

This gimmick is also not very sustainable, similar to Shyamalan's "OMG DAT TWIST ENDING!" shtick. How often can you subvert the audience's expectations until the audience expects the subversion?Oengae wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 6:17 pmOkay, so subverted expectations. Re: Movieblob
It's this mentality that leads to shit like Gayme of Thrones. Subverting expectations in itself means nothing. It's neither good nor bad. There's a reason people have expectations about stories: because stories matter to people and it's a lot easier to make a decent story using the common tropes within your genre. If you're going to subvert expectations, the onus is on you to do that in an intelligent and meaningful way.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 2:08 amBob recently tweeted that people who hated TLJ had never heard the phrase "subverting expectations" before the movie came out.
Throwing a pile of shit in my face when I order a cheeseburger is "subverting my expectations." Blobbo will never understand that QUALITY is more important than meme "originality." It's not even originality because every fucker these days tries to write like gayme of thrones and kill, rape, ruin beloved characters.

Exactly why I really appreciated the movie Contagion, actually. And that came out 2010ish. It's a disease outbreak deal. Granted, it's not a great movie by any stretch. Tries to be a bit artsy, but in the ignorable 'figure out the deeper meaning' kind of way.
There's no viral weapons testing, no military conspiracy, no preaching about God's judgment, no grand environmental spiels or any of that. The plot twist is that there really isn't one. Disease happened, people are trying to cure it, some people are douchebags. That's it. It's refreshing.
