As with any other IN, he was carried by the subject he talked about. When he started with the porn movies was when I tapped out. Some E.T. porn spoof that was only ever trying to get novelty rents and isn't even "so bad it's good" is just boring.Ihatebradjones wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 7:13 pmThat's the reason I ever watched him to. Agreed I quite liked the reviews of the 50's rock and roll films he did last. Not because of him obviously it was just cool to these 1950's pop culture time capsules.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 7:29 pmAs with any other IN, he was carried by the subject he talked about. Well you can go fuck off back to your mirror, cause that's where you can find a true autist.

The Sperg in the Mirror was a great Michael Jackson song.Moe Bitches wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 9:50 pmWell you can go fuck off back to your mirror, cause that's where you can find a true autist.
Also you’re right about Brad, Trump Derangement Syndrome and Christian bashing forced him to step out of his wheelhouse and then he realized socjusbuxs were far more viable. Less effort, more money. He even fucked up that one year when he promised to look at more italian horror, which is a goldmine for good material.
Granted he fucked up the Suspiria review with that forced Tequila and Bonetti bullshit...
Re: Brad Jones, The Cinema Snob
Midnight Screenings is probably the worst "show" by an IN that I've personally seen. I tried listening to it way more times than it deserved, and it always ended the same way: with me knowing next to nothing about the movie in question and hating their guts a little more than before. Every episode was a cacophony of forced laughter and "hilarious" cinema-going anecdotes, with maybe a few out of context comments about scenes sprinkled in that didn't actually explain anything. The worst part was that retard who they always sent to watch kids movies (Jake?), who seemed to believe that yelling makes everything funny.
The snob "reviews" were already worthless as derivative works/critiques, being nothing more than abridged versions of the movies with some unfunny commentary on top, but they could still be moderately interesting depending on the source material. The Midnight Screening format, on the other hand, was so fucking awful that no matter how curious I was about the movie I could never find anything redeemable about it.

Agreed. Brad, like most other INs only know how to riff, and not to review. And MS shows it. He rarely or never provides an insightful analysis or constructive criticism, he and his dumb pals mostly ramble, go on tangents and laugh at dumb shit.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 5:37 pmMidnight Screenings is probably the worst "show" by an IN that I've personally seen. And considering how bad his own films are, you couldn't take his opinion seriously anyway, since they prove he has a poor understanding of what makes a film good.
If a Snob episode is entertaining, it is only because the film he's riffing is hilariously bad and batshit insane. Mocking films like that is super easy cause the problems are so glaringly obvious so the jokes write themselves. It takes little skill and effort. If the movie is genuinely good or boring, then the Snob episode sucks, cause there is nothing to riff and that is the only thing he knows. If riffing movies stops being profitable, he's fucked. He's inept at both reviewing and filmmaking so he has no other skills he can use to earn money.
