I usually plan mine around an actual event I can't get here. Like when I went to Wrestlemania 31 and recently to Wacken, the metal festivals here are pure shit like in all anglosphere countries and while I give no fucks about WWE anymore the only time they came here was for crappy yearly house shows that don't matter. And with Wrestlemania half the reason to go there is to shitpost in real life the next night on Raw with over 10000 other people drunk off their asses, and even that is no where near as good as it used to be.

But yeah, the whole "resort vacation" thing is dumb as shit to me. At least see sights you can't get in your homeland, going to some beach and resort is only worth it if it is fairly close to you.
