Re: TFS got copyright struck again
Watching this, and remembering the old episodes, I think back to Atop the 4th Wall and realise that they and Linkara have the same problem: They're taking this way too seriously. As has been mentioned, they tried to be tongue in cheek but you can tell hey believe they've made something worthy of the original, if not better. Years ago Kaiser bitched about their little backstory for Android 16 as Gero's son not being made canon in one of those lists they make every December. Because, and they will deny it, they believe they should have gotten the job of writing Super. Like Bob whining that Mario is dead from the announcement that the company that did Minions will be involved in the CGI Mario movie, they're pissed they didn't get to do it their way.
That other thing they dubbed, Hells, I bet is going to be way too pretentious and up its own ass to enjoy even slightly. Kaiser probably watched it and decided this was his chance to prove he was a real writer when likely even the creators didn't care too much about it.

In the To Be Fair bit, that part about him being Gero's son is legit, but also a Word of God from Toriyama some twenty years after the fact. That said, it's worth a 'huh' and a shrug, and that's really about it. It isn't some grand revelation that puts the whole series in a new light or anything like that. I wouldn't put money on it being planned at the time, either.
This links to a picture of the page it apparently came from. I can't read the damn thing, for obvious reasons. It's an interview from a reprint of the Android DBZ arc from about five years ago.

I don't see anything on there about a son of Gero, or even a mention of #16 for that matter.

watched it finally. Wow, never before have i felt so underwhelmed by the retelling of a story since hearing the tale about how my uncle once met the lead singer of CCR at a bar 35 years ago.

Like I said, I can't read it, but it's where they're citing that bit from. May not be that page.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 12:08 amThis image?

Oh I know it's an actual fact, what I meant was they tried to expand upon it and give a deeper story to the androids. And then got pissy when their 'amazing rewrite' was ignored by the people who actually make the damn thing.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:45 pmIn the To Be Fair bit, that part about him being Gero's son is legit, but also a Word of God from Toriyama some twenty years after the fact. I think years of dumb fans telling them they're better than the original has gone to their head. I do find it easier to watch their show than DBZ original but that's just because DBZ is so dragged out and it's not as engaging as when I was twelve. Now they've convinced themselves they're the true heirs to Toriyama's throne even though they're only tolerated.

Re: TFS got copyright struck again
That AX incident last year should have been a reality check, when Lani had to gomenasai to Toei for siccing TFS fans on their twitter. Toei allows them to exist because they're one of the biggest anime studios in the world and bothering with some weebs who only make about 12k a month on patreon would be a waste of Toei's money.

They exist because toei is indifferent... currently.
When toei smacked them down about a year ago for the shirts, they had to admit that not only was toei in the right, but could their asshole toxic fanbase stop sending toei death threats.
Trust me, if someone high up at toei got pissed or woke up on the wrong side of bed one morning, tfs would be fucked. The amount they'd spend on legal fees to take tfs down would be less than they spend on napkins a year.

All while the TFS fanbase virtue-signals about boycotting Toei, which nobody will believe.
