That's why sane doctors demand you lose weight before the surgery. They want you to prove that you are actually able to change your eating habits.

Reason is, I have a cousin who got himself a gastric sleeve surgery, and I was told that it's literally impossible for him to even try to attempt to eat like he did before, because the remainder of the stomach is immediately full.

Nah, he just stretched it back out again. He doesn't eat because he's actually hungry. He eats because he's an addict. You don't cure addiction with surgery, unless it's a lobotomy. He should get one of those.

He devoted years to defeating that weight loss surgery and look how far he's come! A true success story. If you try your hardest, you can overcome the best attempts of modern medicine! Wonder how much it cost for that surgery... Let alone the man-hours and expertise of the medical professionals required to perform it safely and effectively.

There are always ways for the determined. Ice cream. Soda. They give you a list of the shit not to eat after your surgery. Some of it you actually can't eat for health reasons, IIRC. But some of it you shouldn't eat because it can partially reverse the surgery or allow for excess caloric intake in spite of the surgery. I'm just going off what I remember from the deathfats in My 600 Pound Life. Those mofos were godlike at figuring out how to undo surgery.
