Yeah, looking at the language he’s using on twitter now makes it pretty clear he got popped for begging. Called that one. Just like his “it’s not a business” spiel, the fundraiser is now a “Patreon drive”. Instead of “I need this money to pay taxes” Phil is saying “it’s tax season so any help would be appreciated”. Imagine being such a fucking beggar Twitch slaps you down for making the platform look bad. That’s some super saiyan begging right there.
Yeah, I was wrong on the reason he got popped. I thought for sure that twitch wouldn't care about his begging. Because, after all, they hadn't cared for all of last year. But I guess they finally had enough and now DSP is going to modify his begging language so he has plausible deniability going forward.

But he'll eventually fuck that up too. Now that he's been suspended once, detractors will be more motivated than ever to keep reporting him and Twitch's new rules make it clear they're cracking down on the shit-talking and toxicity. I'd say it's just a matter of time until he eats two more strikes.

The theory on the farms is that Phil may already be on his second strike as he has to apply for new emotes even though he’s an affiliated channel, meaning he’s not in good standing with twitch. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s had a strike beforehand though. I guess we’ll find out if and when Phil fucks it again.

I think the problem Phil now has is that twitch are getting upset over people ascribing real life value to their magic video game kids currency. Imagine the pr shitstorm that could come their way if the media caught wind of kids buying bits explicitly to pay the taxes of a 35 year old man with two homes. Twitch wants no part of that shit.

I don't buy the idea he's on his second strike. I think this is his first. That applying for emotes thing could have been a result of some backchannel warning or for some other reason. It's best to assume this was his first strike until we have proof otherwise. I saw people mentioning it on the farms, but I remember when he mentioned a twitch employee making him aware of what he could and could not say with regard to soliciting donations. This was probably six months ago. DSP was very smug about it, but the twitch employee probably sent him some kind of low-key warning with an explanation. Maybe the employee thought DSP was new to twitch since they updated their rules, and deserved an explanation of how to solicit money properly, instead of an immediate 24-hour suspension. Who knows.

Yeah, I think the issue of twitch's bits is a big deal for them. They're trying to avoid government scrutiny and a 35 year-old manchild who makes six figures begging literal children for what essentially amounts to cash money could create big problems for Twitch.

Might also be because of the crackdown on loot boxes right now. After they are done with that, they may look where else gullible kids get ripped off. I see it as a preventive measure against criticism.

To be fair, twitch is pretty lenient of people asking for money, even big streamers do that.

But there is a world of difference between "hey, if you liked the stream, maybe consider a cheer or a subcription" and "I need money to save my hourse!!! lets do a fund raiser!!!"

Phil just don't have any tact, and he gets desperated easily (for good reasons, considering his debt) and flaps his gums without any thought. And even if he is a small fry, it's hard to ignore the bad rep he brings with his begging shit, this is a bad look for everything in general, people don't like to be begged for money, it sounds desperate and is unconfortable.

Even charities have more sense to not straight ask beg for money, they raise "awarness" for an issue. And of course anyone can see between the lines and know they are asking for money, but still being respectful about that.

Curious on how he is going to behave from now on, he gets trigged as fuck by such things.

The funniest thing is Phil tweaking his narrative like he’s always had this “patreon drive” and not a fundraiser, when the cheeky cunt doesn’t even have any patreon perks set up.

Wouldn't a "Patreon drive" be even worse under Twitch's eyes? They'd host the ebegging but not see a penny of it.

I guess it’s ok because there’s a degree of separation between the money Phil gets at the end of it, and twitch. Twitch doesn’t want people saying explicitly “give me money to pay my taxes” to an audience of children. The relative pittance Phil makes Twitch from begging probably isn’t worth the potential shitstorm of bad PR they could get. Rpgworms analogy about charities “raising awareness” was spot on. Of course other people on Twitch ask for money too, but most people have the tact to phrase it in a less direct way, and let their entertaining/informative stream make people want to donate. Of course Phil is very stupid, physically repulsive and a charisma black hole so he has to directly ask for money instead of letting his stream earn it.

It's even funnier because as little as two years ago he was the most vitriolic twat about shittalking people about begging on stream.
It's his complete lack of self-awareness at work again. Maximilian Dude is a repulsive, fake shill and hype whore only in it to make money. Phil begs like a crack-addicted street bum, hypes up redemption runs like the second coming and is the king of fake reactions. He just doesn't see that he's guilty of everything he accuses others of - even much more so.
Nobody hates DSP as much as DSP. He hates everything DSP does. He just can't see it.

"fundraiser" is now a banned word in DSP's twitch chat
