You don't seriously think the viewers wouldn't follow Doge and instead remain on the deserted site that is CA, do you? Linkara is the only guy there left with any pull and people watch him on YT and not CA anyway.

Except that CA is where all their money is. I remember years ago reading somewhere that as CEO Michaud was making five figures, they were bragging about that to say how awesome their site was. Now even assuming that wasn't bullshit, he probably still takes a giant cut as the owner.

If they wanted to leave, they would have to start from scratch, with wives to support and mortgages to pay. Doge has no idea about management, he left everything to Michaud and Rob, I think Lupa said at one point Doge wasn't even aware of what his view count was because he never paid attention to it. He was actually surprised the anniversary specials weren't getting the others a ton of hits because he's so out of the loop he had no idea they were a diminishing return. And I highly doubt he ever fixed that, so the burden would be on Rob, who would have to figure out some way to make a new YT channel self-sustainable without using the critic's name, which hasn't worked out for them in the past.

I reckon they're just too scared to leave.
