She acts and sounds way too much like CWC. Perhaps they share the same strain of 'tism.

I've never met a single goth girl that wasn't mentally deranged in some way. They all have massive issues, daddy issues the least of them.

I'm already seeing in my town ads for tattoo removal clinics. Boy, do I love some delicious shadenfreude.

In any case, I oly lasted in the video until she said she had a contract for a 3 book series. I closed the video in disgust. But for anyone who made it until the end, can anyone confirm that this http://falstaffbooks.com/ is a vanity pùblishing company?

Meh. It's not universal, but 'Three X Deals' don't work the way most people think they do.

Long and short, they're the company investing in an unknown writer/developer/actor/whatever, or, admittedly, in setting up a series with better knowns, but the contracts are a bit kinder on those. The company trades giving the newcomer a start in the industry in exchange for having that (I'll say actor for brevity) required to work for them in the future, usually at a set rate.

In other words, the company gets to call on the actor for X (usually 2) more projects at the original/reduced rate despite the fact that his market value is going up. The flipside is that projects 2 and 3 are technically 'options,' so the company can kick the guy to the curb after the first project if it doesn't work out.

The whole Jennifer Lawrence/X-men Apocalypse thing about being paid less was pretty much due to one of these, which she signed with Sony right before Hunger Games happened and sent her rates through the roof. The two others were under these contracts too but, well, they kind of had a resume before signing.

The standard publisher's contract for a new author, though, is usually just right of first refusal. Granted, often a perpetual one. I can't help but wonder if she knows the noose she's stuck her head into.
