Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
I don't like his movies, but I think that Zack Snyder makes a good point here, both about pushing the envelope when it comes to interpreting superheroes in movies and about how catering to fan expectations can strangle the life out of something. I just found out today that he was on Joe Rogan. I act...

Re: Non-cape tv show
I'd say Lost Highway is the most Lynchian movie of his by far. I like all Lynch movies, really, including that one, though I might rank "Lost Highway" a little lower solely because of the music. Marilyn Manson and Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails and all that. YUCK. Otherwise, it's a great modern take...

Re: Non-cape tv show
Season 1 - Classic stuff for me, though I've heard more than one young person today say that they find it slow. Season 2 - It goes off the rails at times, but I still like it. This season gets deeper into the mysteries of the woods. There's probably some nostalgia at work for me. The highlights are ...

Re: Non-cape tv show
I thought that the return Twin Peaks was even better than the original. I loved it. I can't think of anything that is as consistently unpredictable as that.

Re: Non-cape tv show
Twin Peaks is one of my favorite things. I'm old enough to have seen it when it first aired and it had a big effect on me and I still think it's one of the best shows ever. About once a decade, I rewatch the whole thing. That said, I would say that the OG mystery box series is The Prisoner from the ...

Re: Fake News General
Anyone with a smartphone can be a journalist. I understand being sore after you get laid off, but if you really want to keep reporting... you CAN. You have a TV studio in your pocket. If your work is interesting and important, you can build an audience who will fund you. I know it's not easy, but if...

Re: Tranny's, SJWs, male feminists - Imagine my shock!
Previously unacceptable things becomes acceptable all of the time now, but there's a stone wall that pedophilia will always run into and that's parents. It's a safe bet that these women who call for pedo sympathy not only don't have kids, but they'd run to an abortion clinic at the first evidence th...

Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
I was a big X-Men reader in the 80s (Chris Claremont) and the comics back then definitely were inspired by civil rights issues and it works on the level that kids interpret things. If you try to make adult sense of it all, then it becomes retarded, but that's true of all superhero shit. In the end, ...
