I'd say there's a few snippets where it does, mainly with the old cast. Bobby's melodramatic crying at Laura's picture fits right in. Everything with the Log Lady too. But it doesn't last.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2024 2:02 pmAt no moment does The Return capture the feeling, the mood of Twin Peaks.

Re: Non-cape tv show
This was the best moment, showing that MacLachlan still absolutely had it. I'm sad to think of what could've been if the rest of the show lived up to this scene

Re: Non-cape tv show
I finally finished watching the mess-terpiece that is the Twin Peaks revival. POSITIVES *Kyle MacLachlan. No matter what role he plays, he commits to it absolutely and is always very engaging to watch. *I was very happy with how the show handled Bobby, Hawk, the Log Lady, Andy, Lucy, Ed, Nadine, Nor...

Re: Movie Thread
Ideally, I'd like a Mad Max film that dealt with law and order coming back, but it's a totalitarian government. Max is old as shit and just wants everyone to fuck off and leave him alone, but he ultimately can't ignore how the people are getting trampled so he takes charge of them and becomes the po...

Re: Movie Thread
I know you're not supposed to be anal with continuity in these films, but I don't see the point of flagrantly ignoring it either. It's like if James Bond movies resurrected his wife every now and then. The point of having a flexible continuity is to move on.

Re: Movie Thread
The Gibson movies aren’t even consistent with that, and I think that’s fine. It’s a trait of the series at this point. Was there any real inconsistency in the Gibson era? Seemed pretty straightforward to me. Movie 1 is obviously movie 1. In the Road Warrior, his clothes are a little torn and he los...

Re: Movie Thread
Fury Road's pretty great action flick if you detach it from the Gibson trilogy and just take it as a standalone reboot. I still don't know how (or if) Max is supposed to be an ex-police officer in a world that's clearly been stewing in the apocalypse for decades, but whatever. Same with Evil Dead. I...

How do you figure?Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 2:58 pmI disagree about it being like a Lynch film. It's more like a celebration of depression.
