Re: Allison in Applebee's Hell: The Lupa Thread

Also more Asians for that Chinese market. Who knows, maybe they switch over entirely to Chinese mythology, pissing of their target audience due to ignorance no doubt. Iirc the 90s novels that followed the movie continuity did explore other mythologies, and I think they even talked about getting int...

Re: Allison in Applebee's Hell: The Lupa Thread

Emmerich said he wanted to make more Stargates. Let's see what comes of that Either he or Dean Devlin said it wasn't happening, and thank God for that. Brad Wright and Michael Shanks are currently working on a new show. https://www.gateworld.net/news/2021/03/next-stargate-project-might-have-daniel-...

Re: Movie Thread

Probably wanted to fool some younger viewers into thinking it's a brand-new thing, not a sequel to something made in medieval times. One thing that drove me nuts about the 2018 film is that they were clearly trying to mimic Carpenter's aesthetic, but never let the tension build properly. It was like...

Re: Movie Thread

I think the studio saw how well Jamie Lee Curtis did in Halloween 2018 Halloween's a weird case where they mostly just seem to make family reunion movies. 1988 - 10th anniversary, let's bring back Donald Pleasence and have Michael attack Haddonfield again 1998 - 20th anniversary, let's bring back J...

Re: Allison in Applebee's Hell: The Lupa Thread

Literally just re-watched all of SG-1 and Atlantis in order over a couple of weeks and everything you say is spot on. I used to hate the last two seasons of SG-1 but gained a new appreciation for them this time around and wish it had kept going. Atlantis too goddamn it. Rewatch Universe, you coward

Re: Allison in Applebee's Hell: The Lupa Thread

I don't think it's impossible to keep a show going for a very long time, it just takes a lot of skill to carefully change things around so it doesn't get stale. Stargate SG-1's a great example of a show that was still doing fine when it was cancelled in its tenth season. Sure, Richard Dean Anderson ...

Re: Star Dreck

Do they even need to? I feel like they could get most of the actors in the Kelvin reboot for a television show. They've already recast Spock for his "I like science" cameo in Discovery, Kelvin Chekov's actor is fucking dead , and who knows if anyone else of the rest events wants to return for anoth...

Re: Star Dreck

They had no issue with Pike. The execs felt The Cage was too cerebral and not enough action so they asked for a second, more plebbed up, pilot. Jeffrey Hunter didn't want to do another pilot so they looked for another lead, ultimately landing on Bill Shatner Oh right, I confused the executives' rea...
