It's more like one side always willing to cave in to the other. That's not how things are supposed to work.

There's a study done online somewhere (forget the link) which basically says the best society is one that has people that respond to how the other treats them.
In other words: screw me, and I'll screw you back until you learn to stop doing that.

Solid analysis my friend. I’d definitely say we’re in the midst of a great political shift in America, and at this rate we need it.
I'm not sure what's so great about people radicalizing themselves and running around outside parliament forcing political issues with polemic and violence. The last time conservatives had enough and words like cultural Bolshevism where thrown around is when the Weimar Republic was on it's last legs.

We just need to drop the left-right bullshit here and come up with factions.

Every politician's ego wants them to be known as being a great compromiser negotiator and wonderful bipartisan worker.

They should really just show up and demand only what they want to vote. No compromise or exceptions. Call a vote? Do it and move on. If they just get gridlock, go home like Trump did.
Live as cheaply as possible, and save your lobbyist money and Congress pay. Come election time it wont matter if you get reelected or not. Just say the other is insane.

The right continually cucks itself when it gets handed everything. Twice. Didnt take the Dems long to get ACA and start more wars.
This is how Trump got elected. He says screw off and quit wasting time trying to be friends with these people. Maybe next time these furloughed idiots caught in the shutdown should get a real job instead of government lazy work.

To be fair, the pro-war, pro-corporatist US Democrats aren't especially left wing
They're just more honest lefitsts.

What's considered "far right" in Sweden is still left of US Democrats.

I like the Sweden Democrats much more than the American Democrats.

Sweden's going to get their old no-confidence prime minister back--doing whatever it takes to get their fringe Left to shut up--just to keep spiting the Sweden Democrats.
